“Why Science Matters? – Engaging Minds and Developing the Future!” was the theme of the 6th edition of Science Days at the National Library of the Republic of Moldova, which took place on November 11-15, 2024.
The Science Days comprises several events; the first one was the Researchers’ Forum within the National Library System. It was held On November 11, 2024, under the theme “Innovation, research and digital transformation in libraries”. The event focuses on exploring research directions in the field of library and information science, the role of libraries in the era of digital transformation, and the innovation of library services for the academic community.
The workshop “Creating the authority files. Case Study: National Library of Latvia” delivered by Maira Kreislere, Jogita Sauka, Dzintra Mukāne (National Library of Latvia) was held at the National Library of Moldova (November 14, 2024), at Scientific Library of Balti State University “Aleco Russo” (Balti city, November 12, 2024), and Library of Comrat State University (Comrat city, November 13, 2024).*
The Science Days at the National Library of Moldova concluded on Friday, November 15, 2024, with a professional event “BiblioLink”, which aims to become a collaborative platform dedicated to the exchange of good practices and experiences between the staff of the National Library of the Republic of Moldova.
*The activities were organized within the project “EU4Dialogue: Enhancing experiences through education and culture”, which is implemented by Latvijas Nacionālā bibliotēka, funded by the European Union and DAAD Scholarship.
