The BnF presents two exhibitions on Molière

The National Library of France is celebrating the 400th anniversary of Molière’s birth with 2 exhibitions.

“Molière en musiques” at the Garnier Opera

Organised in partnership with the Comédie-Française and the Opéra national de Paris, it features exceptional documents from the collections of the institutions. The exhibition explores the place of music in Molière’s work, with the invention of the comedy-ballet in the 1660s, the many influences that Molière had on composers, and contemporary creation, between performances faithful to the splendour of the Grand Siècle and productions in search of constant renewal.

From 27 September 2022 to 15 January 2023
