If you want to read more about the History of the Greek Revolution, you should visit the Digital Collections Platform of the National Library of Greece. You could even zoom in the Rigas Velestinlis’ Charta of Greece down to the smallest detail and see what the late18th century map, which consists of twelve colored parts, looks like.
The Digital Collections Platform contains high-resolution digitized items of great historical and cultural value, freely available to the general public for study and research. The digital images represent as accurately as possible the visual information of the original items, in an effort to communicate their unique and distinctive nature.
The digitization of NLG items is financed both by NLG’s resources and through cooperation with prestigious international organizations. Users can access, for the time being, about 900 digitized items: Manuscripts, Rare and Valuable books, Maps and Books of the General Collection. The National Library of Greece aims to continuously enrich the digital collections platform with new content, in order to cover a wide range of topics, scientific fields and time periods, to disseminate the historical and cultural heritage of Greece, to promote research and enrich the education process.
