In February 2022, the National Széchényi Library’s (OSZK) publication “Eritis mihi testes” Recordings of the 1938 International Eucharistic Congress in Budapest was nominated for a prestigious international award. The bilingual volume of studies was nominated by the professional committee of the international organization Association for Recorded Sound Collections (ARSC).
The US-based association brings together the profession of sound and audiovisual recordings from all over the world. The results were announced in the autumn of 2022, with the OSZK volume winning the “Best Discography” award in the Best Historical Research on General Recording Topics category. The award ceremony was held at the ARSC conference in Pittsburgh in May 2023, where the book’s editor, János Ferenc Szabó, represented the authors. The preservation of literacy is a noble task for the National Széchényi Library, which has produced a number of diverse, yet convergent, achievements that are significant by European and US standards.
