National Library of Türkiye Signs New Memorandums of Understanding with National Library Kosovo and North Macedonia

The National Library of Türkiye is a pioneering institution that attaches great importance to cooperation and information sharing in the field of librarianship on a global scale and strengthens its international relations by signing agreements with 42 different countries from Europe, Asia, Africa and Oceania. The Library acts with a collaborative and innovative approach to achieve common goals such as preserving cultural heritage, increasing digital access and improving information services. By encouraging the exchange of knowledge and experience through these agreements, the National Library of Türkiye plays a role in following developments in the field of librarianship and constantly expanding its international network.

With this in mind, during the 11th Annual General Assembly of SEENL 2024 held in Ankara on October 18, the National Library of Türkiye signed new memorandums of understanding with the National Libraries of Kosovo and North Macedonia, further strengthening their cooperation in the field of librarianship. The agreements aim to increase the exchange of knowledge and experience, organize joint projects and events, improve the quality of library services and provide mutual support in areas such as staff training.

The MoUs were signed by Taner Beyoğlu, Director General of Libraries and Publications on behalf of the National Library of Türkiye, Jovica Nichevski, Director of the National Library on behalf of the National and University Library of St. Clement of Ohrid, and Blerina Rogova Gaxha, Director of the National Library on behalf of the National Library of Kosovo “Pjetër Bogdani”.
