From June 5th until June 9th a delegation of the KB (National Library of the Netherlands) participated in the 51st Acuril conference in Curacao. Acuril is the main library association of the Caribbean and was established in 1974. The association counts among its members the National libraries as well as public, special and school libraries of the various English, French ,Spanish and Dutch speaking Caribbean islands. Knowledge exchange on key topics between information professionals and networking are the main ingredients of the Acuril conferences topped with a rich blend of Caribbean music, food and art . The well-chosen theme of the 2022 conference was “Change management and resilience : Proactive actions in Libraries. Apart from actively participating in the Acuril conference the KB delegation visited libraries on Curacao and the other Dutch islands and met with stakeholders of the library sector. These visits and meetings were part of the KB support program for the Dutch Caribbean libraries which is currently being developed.
