The National and University Library of Iceland is the national library of Iceland and the library of the University of Iceland.
The library was established December 1st, 1994. It is the largest library in Iceland, with more than one million items in various collections.

The library is the main legal deposit library in Iceland, and its national collection contains almost all published written Icelandic works, maps, music and other audio, films, as well as digital and digitized material. The library also has a large collection of manuscripts. The library houses the largest academic collection in Iceland, with a broad collection of international scientific works and literature, most of which can be borrowed for off-site use or is available online.

The library has digitised parts of the national collections – books, manuscripts, newspapers, and serials – and this material is widely used.
Students at the University of Iceland get library cards for free. Others pay an annual fee.
