The National Library of Serbia, in the partnership with the Stockholm Museum of Women’s History and the Embassy of Sweden in Belgrade, organised an event marking the Womens’ month on 13 March 2024. It started with the opening of the exhibition Women’s History is Everywhere by the Stockholm Museum of Women’s History, curated by Anna Tascha Larsson, museum director, and Sandra Åhman, communications manager. Vladimir Pištalo, director of the National Library of Serbia, and Annika Ben David, Ambassador of Sweden to Serbia and to Montenegro spoke at the vernissage. Anna Tascha Larsson gave a lecture and a presentation of the Stockholm Museum of Women’s History, and Sandra Åhman made a small tour of the exhibition, to be opened until 27 March 2024.
The second part of the event included the workshop Women’s History is Everywhere – Unveiling Women’s History through Collaboration for twenty librarians from the Serbian library network. The facilitators of the workshop were Anna Tascha Larsson and Sandra Åhman, with the support of Ana Milutinović and Tamara Butigan from the National Library of Serbia. Through interactive group discussions, Serbian librarians had a brainstorming on the ways to shed light on the significance of women throughout history at their own libraries.
