The European Commission and Europa Nostra have awarded a European Heritage Award to the NewsEye project in which the University of Helsinki developed tools for extensive analysis of digitised newspapers in different languages and from different sources.
The National Library of Finland has acquired the original manuscript of the song entitled Die stille Stadt (Op 50, No 5). The manuscript has been preserved in a very good condition.
Participants of the Summer School of Montenegrin Language and Culture, accompanied by their professors visited the National Library of Montenegro “Đurđe Crnojević” on 21 July 2024. These are six students from prestigious American universities, and the program they attend includes, in addition to classes, visits to important Montenegrin institutions.
At the 38th Annual General Meeting of CENL at the National Library of Poland, the agenda included the elections to the Executive Committee. We are pleased to announce that Frank Scholze, Director General of the German National Library, was confirmed in office for a further three years, as were Karin Grönvall, Sweden, Sara Lammens, Belgium, and Ivanka Stricevic, Croatia. We would like to extend our warmest congratulations to Gilles Pécout, France; Thomas Foltin, Czech Republic; and Maja Micevska Rizova, North Macedonia, who were elected to the Executive Committee. Unfortunately, Maja Micevska Rizova was unable to continue in her role after the meeting.
