Sunbeam House donates digital time capsule to the National Library of Ireland
The National Library of Ireland (NLI) has received a special donation from Viewpoint, an advocacy group within Sunbeam House Services. The born-digital video, recorded in 2022, captures members’ reflections on life during the Covid-19 pandemic as part of the Time Capsule Project, supported by the Creative Wicklow Grant Scheme.
An event dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the people’s poet Bakhtiyar Vahabzadeh was held at TURKSOY
On 21 February, an event was held at the headquarters of the International Turkish Culture Organization (TURKSOY) in Ankara, organised jointly by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, TURKSOY, and the National Library of Azerbaijan, to mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of the prominent Azerbaijani poet and playwright, Bakhtiyar Vahabzadeh (1925-2009).
Priceless cultural heritage incunabula of Andrija Paltašić Kotoranin bought for the funds of NLM “Đurđe Crnojević”
The National Library of Montenegro “Đurđe Crnojević” purchased three Latin incunabula of the first South Slavic typographer and publisher Andrija Paltašić Kotoranin.
These are collections of love poetry by the Latin poets Tibullus, Catullus and Propertius, printed in 1487 and 1488 in Venice.
Everything new in the service area of the German National Library
The DNB’s redesigned service area goes into operation on 24 February 2025. Users will now be able to access the library’s collections through a digital media box system, providing flexible access to media.
Automatic cataloguing webinar by “AI in Libraries” network group
In January 2025, CENL’s “AI in Libraries” network group organised a webinar devoted to the application of AI techniques to several assisted cataloguing scenarios.
New volume of Polish Libraries published
Volume 12 of Polish Libraries, a 100-point-rated journal published by the National Library of Poland, has been published. It contains twelve texts on a variety of topics in English, Italian and French.
