The National Library of Luxembourg (BnL) is a multifunctional library. As a heritage library, the BnL is dedicated to collecting, preserving and cataloguing documents, print and online, created in or related to Luxembourg. As a scientific library, it offers its users international records about all areas of knowledge. Furthermore, the BnL coordinates the largest digital library in Luxembourg.
The BnL is proud to welcome its users in its new library building, which opened in October 2019.
For more than 800 years, coats of arms have been an expression of personal, family and social identity. The new Ars Heraldica exhibition at the National Library of Luxembourg helps visitors decode the mysterious and obscure world of coats of arms and provides an insight into this very specialised form of self-representation.
