The National Library of Romania is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Bogdan Gheorghiu as Acting Director General.

With rich experience in the cultural and administrative area, Mr Gheorghiu defended his bachelor’s degree at the George Enescu University of Arts in Iași.

Immediately after completing his studies, he dedicated himself to a personal project to establish the Dramatic Theater “Bucovina” in Suceava.

He was president of the “Association of Local and Regional Televisions” and served two terms as a Member of Parliament, working in the Committee for Culture, Arts and Media. As Minister of Culture, he supported the development of national heritage, contributing to the establishment of emblematic institutions such as the “Brătianu” National Museum. This solid experience recommends the new director as a dedicated promoter of Romanian cultural heritage.
