The National Library of Latvia applied for CENL’s Skills and Knowledge Exchange (SKE) Bursary with the aim to enhance metadata workflow by learning from KBR’s approaches to bibliographic data management, metadata quality, and innovative tools. The visit focused on exchanging knowledge, exploring AI-driven cataloguing, and establishing connections for future collaboration.
The visitors learned about KBR’s ongoing projects, including Beltrans and MetaBelgica. In turn, the team from Latvia presented the Digital Library of Latvia and the national Digital Cultural Heritage platform. They also toured KBR’s Coins and Medals department and visited the Google Books digitisation team, gaining insights into both heritage preservation and mass digitisation workflows.
Skills and Knowledge Exchange Bursaries are available for CENL members. The bursary can relate to any aspect of skills and knowledge exchange. They are up to the value of €1000 per application.
