National Library of Armenia adopts international DAISY formatting standards for creating accessible school textbooks

The cooperation of the Accessible Books Consortium and the National Library of Armenia piloted school textbooks that are formatted according to DAISY standards for digital talking books for people who are blind or have a print disability. The adoption of DAISY international standards resulted in expansion of serviced books provided by the Library, as well as making education more accessible for school-children with special needs. Produced books include the following formats: EPUB3, DAISY text, DAISY audio (synthetic speech and human narration), Braille ready files (BRF), and Large print files.
