Since March 2022, Ukrainians enjoy free access to the reading rooms and the cultural offer at the BnF. To express its solidarity with the Ukrainian people, the BnFs marked the Ukrainian national day on August 24th and has undertaken a set of actions, including a cycle of conferences.
Dedicated to Ukrainian history and great figures, the cycle is organized in collaboration with two French universities: the National Institute for Oriental Languages and Civilizations (INALCO) and the University Library of Languages and Civilizations (BULAC). From May to December, the BnF is hosting conferences and seminars on different topics ranging from: boarder disputes or the intelligentsia in the twenties to the famous novel “Maroussia”.
The next conference, to be held on November 30th will be about the Holomodor, the man-made famine in Ukraine between 1932-1933.
